Increase in coal production in Uzbekistan
As reported by “Gazeta.uz” President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting on energy supply issues set tasks to increase coal production in Uzbekistan.
It was noted at the event that in 2023 the demand for coal will grow by 1.5 times, therefore, the Minister of Mining and Geology Bobir Islamov was instructed to ensure an increase in coal production this year from 5.3 million to 6.5 million tons (+22.6%).
In the first quarter, coal production in the country fell by 14% compared to the same period last year — from 1.1 million to 989.1 thousand tons.
It is also reported that for 11 months of 2022, 2.39 million tons of coal were delivered to the country for $ 105.8 million. The average import price was $44.1 (+15.3% compared to 2021).
